I am right where you left me.

Time seems to flow without mercy, everybody moved on. The city is in hustle and bustle, with people crossing streets, having takeaway coffee, talk about the weather. Waves of laughter erupt from restaurants, with families having lunch together, friends catching up with each other, couples having dates over coffee and cute cakes.

But me, I’m still here, exactly where you left me.

I see that you don’t seem bothered by the fact that I’m still haunting the very same spot where you said you couldn’t see a future with me. My body has moved on, of course, since I have a day job. But mentally, I know I can never move.

I know I shouldn’t have met you, but meeting you... by God, meeting you was the best thing that ever happened to me. I can’t imagine a life without you, even though the thought of you shattering everything we have suffocates me.

I know you no longer care, but could you at least fake it for me?
